WHILE Costco is well known for its convenient food court, some shoppers have joked that some customers are taking advantage of the cheap meal deals in the wrong way.
A Costco member recently called for the popular wholesaler to revoke another shopper’s membership after they were jokingly accused of eating certain foods the wrong way.

It is typically open throughout normal operating hours, offering a variety of easy on-the-go eats for shoppers.
The major retailer is known for having some of the lowest prices on certain menu items, particularly its Hot Dog and Drink combo, which has been $1.50 for decades.
Shoppers can also pick up slices or full pies of pizza, turkey swiss sandwiches, ice cream, cookies, smoothies, salads, and the popular $4 chicken bake.
While memberships aren’t required to access other Costco perks such as the pharmacy, a membership is required to enter the food court.
“Costco is a membership club, therefore, you must have a membership card to enter the warehouse and/or food courts,” the company told Country Living this spring.
Costco shoppers have long had strong opinions about the wholesaler’s food court, typically about changing menu items.
However, some are judging how others eat their shopping snacks.
One shopper recently shared their opinions on X.
“@Costco there are 2 members at the food court using pizza as a bun for the hotdog in a bun,” the post started out.
“Is there a formal process to revoke their membership or do I just go straight to the police???”
The shopper also shared a photo of the other customer’s meal, which appeared to show a half-eaten hotdog wrapped in a half-eaten piece of pizza.
It is not the first time Costco members have combined menu items.
Many have shared their unique – and sometimes stomach-aching – concoctions on TikTok, calling it “ultimate food hacks.”
One set of shoppers revealed they combined the chicken bake, hotdog, and pizza, calling it the “Jochizza.”
OTHER FOOD COURT COMPLAINTS
Costco members are not shy about making their opinions heard when they are unhappy with changes to the retailer’s food court.
Earlier this year, the wholesaler revealed it would be cracking down on customers who previously frequented the food court that did not have a Costco membership.
The change upset many fans.
“Oh f**k yea the Costco food court now requires a membership, just keep stomping us into the ground further,” one X user raged.
Costco membership sharing guidelines
Costco has strict rules for membership use that shoppers must follow and they've been cracking down on offenders in recent years.
- Primary Member Use: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. Sharing it for purchases is not allowed as the photo on the card must match the person using it.
- Household Card: Each primary member can add one free household cardholder who lives at the same address. This person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per visit to Costco. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by the member.
- Authorized Cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who doesn’t reside at your address. They will receive their own card and can shop independently.

“Went to Costco food court for a slice of pizza & they said that starting April 8th you have to have a membership to get food at the food court & this might just be my 13th reason,” another said.
Others have blasted the quality of the food, claiming it made them sick during shopping trips.
“Food court is trash,” one shopper said.
“The hot dogs and pizza, while delicious, are so packaged with salt and fat that I literally become sick a few hours later or lethargic to where I don’t want to do anything else.”
Costco shoppers can find the food court indoors or outdoors depending on their location.
